V is for Volleyball and Wednesday

Ever notice that W's look more like double V's than double U's? That's because they are!!

This is my volleyball team "The Saints" and I posed after a victorious game on one of the various beach volleyball courts that we have been playing on every Wednesday night.

We've lost some and we've won some but it has all been good times thanks to our team spirit. We have some experienced players and some, well, less experienced although each person brings something to the team. Cathy, a school teacher helps with her enthusiasm. For example, last week we had a competition to see who could get the most dives. Her and I were tied at five each by the end of the game. Leah uses a nice strong voice when calling out the ball. Chris takes the cake when it comes to powerful serves. We're just trying to get him to be less powerful so that they go in. Basia offers consistency, Mike offers skill and direction as to where people should be on the court. Rotations can be confusing. Everyone needs to coordinate.

So there are just a few more weeks of play left as the summer has been vanishing as quickly as our fear of diving into the sand. We will have fun tonight...and hopefully spike some mean hits down on the opponent's court.
